Lisa Arnold - Consultant
Hello - I live in beautiful Evergreen, Colorado and have over 17 years of teaching experience with grades k-12. As an Art Teacher, I saw all students, in two schools, in my classroom; working with teachers, therapists and parents to modify for students with disabilities. I have been a Program Leader with the Evergreen Parks and Rec INSPIRE Program for the last 10 years. In that role, I have taken campers with disabilities, ages 5 and up, out into the community to do anything and everything! I am also a Mountain Foothills Rotarian working the last 8 years on a variety of fundraisers and projects to support people with disabilities in our mountain community. I am a proud Board member of the Colorado Initiative for Inclusive Higher Education (IN!) which introduced legislation that supports students with intellectual disabilities (ID) to attend college here in Colorado. There are currently three colleges with a over 50 students pursuing their dreams.
I also have a daughter with a disability and have been advocating, navigating and connecting for over 19 years on her behalf. Her name is Grace. She is a senior at Evergreen High School, which is exciting and super scary too. She loves her phone, and is currently crazy about Bigfoot, Chris Pratt and coloring those fabulous zen pages! We are living quite the adventure!
